Pinning and Unpinning Items

The first tip is to “pin” and “unpin” programs. This gives you quick access to your most used programs, and removes items you don’t need.

To “pin” a program to the taskbar simply move your mouse pointer over the program’s icon on the system tray, click the right mouse button, and click the left mouse button on “Pin this program to taskbar”.

Preview and Switch Programs

You can also use the taskbar to quickly preview and change between programs. Hover your mouse over any of the open programs in the taskbar. A little preview window will open to show you the contents of the program. If the program has multiple tabs, you will see all of the tabs. This is very helpfull in web browsers were you may have many different websites open. Simply click on the program or tab preview that you want to switch to.
